Where are you from?
I am from Madrid, Spain.
Why did you want to become a Photographer?
I have always loved the unharmed nature, and after several qualified experiences working as a graphic designer in the world of corporate identity, I started to travel throughout different countries trying to find anonymous spots that reflect the essence of the landscape as an artistic role. I avoid the compulsive photography, the easy shot, defending the idea of what so ever the time we need to get the photo, it always will be better to make a different and unique photography than twenty of them similar and predicable.
Why did you choose this particular shot to be your favorite photograph?
Barayo Beach, on the northern coast of Spain, is one of my favourite places to disconnect from the city and to enjoy a lovely sunrise. I admit I have a real weakness for isolated, shy places that stay away from touristic and economic boom, and whose greatness is not shown for free. Such locations demand mental and physical research, since they don’t give you anything at all without the effort. I carried the obligatory tide table, the sunrise and sunset times, my waterproof boots, my safety light, a compass, a weather forecast and my infinite passion for little details, reflections, the coming and going of water, strangely shaped rocks and short-lived moments, the ones that if missed, do not come back.
Anything else you want to add?
All my images are shot on film (black & white negative or colour transparencies) with my old Hasselblad 500C/M medium format camera and developed using traditional lab methods.
