Where are you from?
I’m Bucks County, Pennsylvania, USA.
Why did you want to become a Photographer?
While hiking one day, I witnessed a sharp-shinned hawk grab a squirrel out of a tree right in front of me. I snagged a picture of it clenching the squirrel in its talons with my cheapo Kodak point-and-shoot camera. I was so excited that I went out and got a DSLR. l try to find and capture animals in their natural habitats that the average Joe doesn’t get to see.
Why did you choose this particular shot to be your favorite photograph?
I found a nesting pair of Bald Eagle in the wild – it was so beautiful it nearly brought tears to my eyes. They are such amazing and commanding birds. It was rewarding to see a bird that was on the verge of extinction not long ago make a come-back. I captured this image of the female as she looked directly down on me and called out. I was able to track down the bander of this particular bird and discovered the bird was banded out of state as a chick.
