Where are you from?
Born in southern California, lived 20+ years in Hawaii, now based in Eugene, Oregon, USA.
Why did you want to become a Photographer?
I love capturing significant moments, recording anything that catches my eye and making photos of things of beauty. The first time I used a darkroom and saw a photo come up on paper in a tray of developer I was hooked on the magic of photography.
Why did you choose this particular shot to be your favorite photograph?
Hawaii is one of the most beautiful places on earth, and the view of Kalalau Valley from the lookout at Koke’e State Park on Kauai is gorgeous. There are times, however, when the view is totally obstructed by clouds and fog, which was the case when I arrived there the day this photo was taken. I hung around anyway, hoping for a break and enjoying just being in the rainforest. Just before sunset the fog dissipated and the sun briefly lit the cliffs of Ka’a’alahina Ridge making for a spectacular vista.
