Where are you from?
Born and raised in the Czech Republic. I currently live in Park City, Utah, in the United States.
Why did you want to become a Photographer?
I was exposed to photography since I was child. My father was a professional photographer, he specialized in landscape and portrait photography. I was often helping him in the dark room and was assisting him while he was taking photos. After moving to the United States, I was impressed by the diverse landscape. When I lived on the east coast, I became more involved with photography, but moving to the west seriously ignited my interest in photography again. I live in Northern Utah, the land covered by amazing mountains. I spend all my free time in the mountains, hiking, backpacking and taking pictures. I try to capture the beauty that I experience and I want to share it. It is what makes me happy the most. Landscape photography became a big part of my life in last several years and my passion for it just keeps growing.
Why did you choose this particular shot to be your favorite photograph?
I took this photo on one of my favorite mountain here, Mount Timpanogos. The mountain is amazing during all seasons and represents areal beauty in the state. I hike in the wilderness and climb the summit (11,752ft = 3,582m) several times every year, my favorite time is July, when wild flowers peak. This is a sunrise shot, taken from Mt.Timpanogos basin, full of flowers and green meadows. I can never tire of this place. Hopefully this photo can explain why.
Anything else you want to add?
Photography makes my life richer and makes me appreciate every bit of pure nature. It is a great way for me to stay in touch with it.
I often tell people, keep taking pictures if you can. Hope you will benefit from it as much as I do.
